The Flying Tortugas are Karla Hopp and Ulysse Richard. Our home is in British Columbia, Canada, but we are avid rock climbers and love the adventures brought on by the combination of climbing and travel. We may fly to our destinations, but once there, we move like turtles. Our goal is not to tick off long lists of “must-see/do” tourist attractions, but rather to experience life in other countries and to expand our climbing abilities and experiences. We tend to end up in unusual little towns and are often the only “tourists” around. Staying in the same place for many weeks at a time, we start to feel at home with the rhythms of local life. Like tortugas, we make our home wherever we are.
